CPR / First Aid from 0 - 12 yearsDue to the popularity of this course, Great Expectations.nl has teamed up with Blue Umbrella, a company that assists parents in finding childcare solutions in The Netherlands. They also specialise in helping parents claim back their childcare subsidy from the Dutch government by assisting them with all the relevant Dutch correspondence. To know more click on www.blueumbrella.nl As of 1 January 2010 if you employ a nanny or an au pair they must hold a Dutch First Aid certificate. Both our companies are working hard at making this possible by combining our mutual resourses to work with Rescue, the biggest First Aid provider to parents in The Netherlands, and Eerste Hulp in Huis. We hope to bring you a First Aid course in English combining both the theory element as a correspondence course, alongside the practical element, which will consist of a 3 hour practical session to learn First Aid skills such as CPR. This course will be recognised by the Dutch Oranje Kruis. We hope to launch it in March 2010. However, I will still continue to run the Parent sessions that do not require an Oranje Kruis certificate and therefore there is no exam. You do receive a certificate anyway and this can be used for any volunteer organisation in The Netherlands such as working with Scouts or church volunteer groups. These parent courses generally consist of either 2 half days or 1 full day. Amsterdam courses will generally be full days but courses in Den Haag will take place over two Saturday mornings. All courses allow parents the opportunity to bring babies that are not yet crawling. The first session will concentrate on emergency first aid for babies and young children including CPR and choking. The second session will be basic first aid in the home. For more details on the course have a look at the menu bar First Aid for Parents. Please note that under Dutch legislation I can train parents and volunteer organisations such as schools and churches, I DO NOT have a license to teach First Aid in the Workplace. So if you require training for your work environment please contact a Dutch First Aid Provider such as the Oranje Kruis as you need to understand Dutch Health and Safety Regulations. Normally this is a 3/4 day course and therefore not one I provide. Many thanks Kind regards Tina |
