Dutch Certified First Aid Training for Childminders or anyone who is working with children in the Workplace

Great Expectations has received approval from NIKTA (Nederlands Instituut Kwaliteit Toetsing en Advies) to provide an Early Years First Aid training in English certified for the Dutch market!

Home-based childcare providers are required to obtain an Early Years First Aid certificate valid in the Netherlands. This is a legal requirement from the Dutch Childcare Act.

Early Years First Aid Training Schedule
The Dutch certified First Aid Course for childminders can be given over two mornings, from 9.00 to 13.00. Or it can be done in one day from 9.00 - 17.30. This eight hour course includes both a practical and written test (multiple choice).

Early Years First Aid REFRESHER courses

Refreshers can only be offered to candidates who hold a First Aid Certificate since October 2010.  Candidates are expected to cover the same material as for the full 8 hour course.  However the refresher course consists of 4 hours with a 20 minute multiple choice written exam.  The practical elements of CPR and bandaging will be re-examined but candidates are expected to study up on the theory elements themselves.  First Aid manuals, workbooks and sample questions can be sent in advance.  One hour will be dedicated to a plenary session - sample questions and answers to prepare for the written exam.  Candidates will also have a chance to debrief any first aid situations they have had to cope with in the past two years.  How did they cope?  Could they improve their techniques?

Training Instructor

Great Expectations.nl is licensed by the Landelijk Instituut Toesting Bedrijfsopleidingen (LITB) to provide First Aid training courses. The training courses are provided by myself, a qualified training instructor, who meets the stringent requirements of the Nederlands Instituut Kwaliteit Toetsing en Advies (NIKTA).

First Aid Training Certificate

Candidates who successfully pass the written and practical test will receive the Early Years First Aid training certificate approved by the Nederlands Instituut Kwaliteit Toetsing en Advies (NIKTA). This certificate is a legal requirement under the Dutch childcare act.

Training Course fee

The fee for the certified Early Years First Aid training course is €165 (including BTW). This includes a training manual, hand-out material, written test and certificate. (Discounts can be arranged for on-site training for schools and creches)
